Welcome to Bridgewater on Loddon Primary School, where tradition meets innovation amidst the serene landscapes of rural Victoria. Nestled beside the Loddon River, our school is a beacon of learning, enriched by both history and modernity.
As you step onto our grounds, you'll be greeted by the original red brick building, a symbol of our heritage. But don't let its age fool you – inside, you'll find a blend of old-world charm and contemporary facilities. Our recent refurbishments have breathed new life into the school, with fresh paint, modern carpeting, and upgraded toilet facilities ensuring a welcoming environment for all.
But the transformation doesn't stop there. Our main building, with its high windows and timber wing, now boasts a modern Office and Administration area. The two adjoining classrooms, separated by a large wooden sliding door, offer unparalleled versatility for modern teaching practices. And with breakout spaces scattered throughout, students and teachers alike have room to explore, create, and collaborate.
Our commitment to innovation extends beyond the classroom. A modern football ground, complete with synthetic turf, provides a state-of-the-art space for sports and recreation. Recently resurfaced basketball courts offer opportunities for friendly competition and teamwork. And our brand-new art shed, with plastered walls and a kitchenette, serves as a hub for creativity and community engagement. From playgroups to parents' groups, our facilities are open to all.
But perhaps one of our most beloved spaces is the large staff room, a bustling hub of activity. Here, we gather for daily Breakfast Club, ensuring every child starts their day with a nutritious meal. Thursdays are special, as students enjoy lunches prepared with care by our staff. And throughout the week, cooking classes ignite a passion for food and nutrition, empowering students with valuable life skills.
Technology plays a pivotal role in our educational approach. Foundation to Year 2 students have iPads allocated to them, while Years 3 to 6 have access to computers. From multimedia production workstations to a 1-to-1 netbook program, we harness the power of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) to enhance learning experiences and prepare students for the digital age.
Located just 35 kilometers north of Bendigo, our rural township provides a close-knit community where every student is known and valued. Whether exploring the banks of the Loddon River or engaging in hands-on learning in our modern facilities, students at Bridgewater on Loddon Primary School discover a world of opportunity.
Welcome to our school, where tradition meets innovation, and every child has the chance to shine.
